Description
When ordering a gurdy, a deposit is required. It equals 50% of the worth of the instrument + shipping cost. The rest of the payment is due once the instrument is ready.
- The estimated time for order fulfillment is until the end of March 2027 (updated on August 4th, 2026). Precise execution time is agreed upon personally with a Customer via email.
Optional electronics: a passive piezo pickup glued to the inside surface of the top with a 6.3mm JACK output is available for 135 €/$158 USD.
Optional capos: a set of 3 capos – one for the melody strings, one for the trompette string, and one for the drone string - available for 230€ /$270.

Love my Trigo. It has a lively resonant body that quickly responds to changes in pitch. It moves with the tune. You feel it in your hands arms, core and ears. The tone is full bodied. The Trompette rips. It plays and sounds big, It is throaty and conveys emotion, which is hard for me to get out My other gurdies. Never fails to make me smile. This thing rips. Construction is solid and clean. Thank you

In brief: an excellent, bright and full-bodied tone in a highly transportable and beautifully finished instrument backed up with amazing customer service from Ancestore. More detail: I’m really enjoying the Trigo. The sound is bright, resonant, and even unamped/mic has a sound that can stand toe-to-toe with other instruments without being overpowering. It’s clearly constructed with care, sturdy without being cumbersome and is easy to grab and go on a whim. I opted for an internal pickup and capos - note that it’s a single pickup fitted internally and so you’ll need to compensate carefully with EQ due to the potential of the drone to dominate the mix. This isn’t problematic. The jack is fitted at the head below the tuning pegs and is easy accessible without interfering with playing posture. Mechanical capos work perfectly, smoothly, and don’t impact the tuning in any meaningful way. However, I have found the key latch for the melody to be troublesome at times: when deployed with enough ‘grip’ to stop the key sliding back it can cause the key to produce a resonant vibration against the key box that can make the open string nigh on unplayable if cranked at anything beyond a moderate adagio. Paper shims can eliminate this but it does take some extra set up - something to be aware of it time is a factor when performing. Ancestore provided impeccable customer service throughout the process of ordering, construction , and delivery (the courier claimed to lose the package en route, and without the Ancestore’s team helping keep the pressure on them, I don’t know if it would have turned up at all).
